Built in 1937, this building was originally used as an auxiliary storage space for the food cannery located at 2111 Harrison Street. Its architectural style is representative of the Mission District’s 20th Century Industrial period (1900-1950): Steel-framed concrete with steel sash windows. The floors have double reinforced rebar, suitable for operating forklifts. In the mid-1940s a third story was added to the building, as well entrance access on 540 Alabama Street.
